Did you get the SPAM email from Background Actor Supreme on 8/21/07??

If you're a member of Background Beat then you got his email asking you to buy website services and business cards from friends of his. Don't you think it's odd that an administrator of a forum would send a blanket email hawking products and services? I wonder if his benevolence is really due to the fact that he is getting a cut of the profits? Hmmmm.

What's really even more odd is the last line of his email. Out of nowhere and totally unrelated to the products he is shilling, he goes on the attack against Hollywood O/S. Check it out for yourself:

Hello dahardaway. Sorry we haven't chatted for a while. It's been a busy week I did two commercials and a couple days stand-in work. Life is good!Last night I helped my friend Nathan make a website for himself. For less than $6 and 30 minutes we created this:http://www.nathancarpenter.comYou can do that too, it's easy even for a beginner. I really think that every actor should own their name as a dot com before someone else does. For more information on setting up your own site (for cheap) go to http://www.backgroundbeat.com/index.php?showtopic=2892 and follow the links. Oh and for a quick giggle check out the video I made of Nathan and I flying up to Malibu on Sunday at http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=16330474 it's pretty cool.If you need business cards check out http://www.overnightprints.com where you can design your own photo business cards right on their website. Great prices, and you can use the code "DISC20" for an additional 20% off!

If you've had any interesting on-set experiences (good or bad) make sure and post them on http://www.backgroundbeat.com. Thanks and see you on set, and remember friends don't let friends join HollywoodOS. ;)

Can you believe the desperation of this clown? If any of you really believed that his dislike of Hollywood O/S was based on legitimate grievances rather than a personal vendetta against this company, all you need to do is look at his groundless posts and his behavior as moderator of the forum.

Do you remember when he was thrown off of a set for rummaging through women's purses left in holding? I'm starting to think that he was probably looking for Hollywood O/S cards so he could throw them out. He's obviously that desperate.

DH

Being snarky can be fun! ;)

Anyhow, have you checked BAS's MySpace page recently? It's now been set to "Private", so only Approved Friends can access it...!

*snark!*

Also, the "main" thread that is bashing HOS on bg-beat has now been LOCKED, after some very contentious postings occured yesterday.

*snark-a-licious!*

:D

I got a spam a few days back. Annoying. Actually, MORE than "annoying", but I can't think of an appropriate word...

I don't know if BAS receives any kind of payment for sending out those e-mails, but I'm leaning more towards he is so paranoid about not being liked, that he just HAS to keep his name/bg.beats' name in front of people, to remind them that bg.beat exists.

I haven't done a "study" of it, but I'm also thinking that he may send out these e-mails (and other "notices") when things are slow at bg.beat...

:/

Hey Spamified-

I think he is actually getting those products for free in exchange for spamming the mailing list at Backgroundbeat.com.

He's so transparent. A parasite in the truest sense of the word.

Hey Snark -

I've never been to his MySpace page. Sounds to me like he must not have a lot of admirers visiting his site.

Do you think he likes to chat on MySpace with other forty year olds like himself? Something tells me his demographic is a lot younger.

What a pathetic zero.
